Diffuse Reflective Sensor - Infrared, Long Range (1m max. Sensing Distance) for Part Ejection
2318301This 1 meter range infrared Diffuse Reflective Photosensor is the most commonly used sensor for detecting part ejection. This sensor uses infrared (as opposed to visible) light, making it ideal for use in oily environments such as stamping dies.
It’s a reflective sensor - the emitter and receiver are in the same housing, aimed in the same direction. The emitter sends out a cone-shaped field of infrared light. The receiver only needs to detect a very small amount of light from the emitter for the sensor to actuate, allowing the diffuse reflective photosensor to easily detect small, fast-moving, even non-reflective objects.
The infrared light source is less apt than visible light to generate false actuations caused by oil in the sensing field, making it ideal for detecting air-ejected parts.
