Proximity Sensor - 12 mm Diameter, Shielded, Normally Closed - NPN
2318602Inductive proximity sensors are excellent and trouble-free general purpose die protection sensors (or any other application where the sensing target is made of metal). They're fast, precise, accurate, will not wear out, are not affected by lube (even water-based), and are easy to install.
This 12 mm diameter shielded inductive proximity sensor has a threaded housing, and should be secured into an M12 x 1 threaded hole with thread locker. If the sensor is to be removed from the die during maintenance, epoxy it into a removable bushing or insert.
This sensor is Normally Closed, in other words, it actuates when metal leaves the sensing field, and turns Off when metal enters the sensing field. Normally closed sensors like these are often used to detect holes.
Like all of our inductive proximity sensors, this sensor is immune to non-metallic contaminants, oil resistant, and features an IP67 environmental rating.
